FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GENESEO, ILL. (01/21/20) – Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the class-leading 9mm Hellcat pistol is American Rifleman’s Handgun of the Year for 2020.

The prestigious Golden Bullseye title, awarded by NRA Publications, is selected by a team of seven members that include select editors, graphic designers and veteran NRA Publications staff.

“To qualify for a Golden Bullseye award,” explains NRA Publications Executive Director Doug Hamlin, “a product must have been: recently introduced and available to consumers prior to the selection of the Golden Bullseye Awards, used/tested by a staff member or regular contributor to the magazine and/or affiliated media, reliable in the field, meeting or exceeding the evaluator’s expectations, innovative in design and function, readily perceived as a value to the purchaser, [and] styled in a manner befitting the shooting and hunting industry and, perhaps more importantly, its enthusiasts.”

The Springfield Armory® Hellcat is the highest capacity micro 9mm in the world. It holds 11+1 with the included flush-fit magazine and 13+1 with an included extended magazine, in a frame that measures only 1″ wide. The result is the ideal concealed carry pistol that stands above in today’s handgun marketplace.

“We are honored that the Hellcat is being recognized by some of the most knowledgeable media and staff in our industry,” explains Springfield Armory® CEO Dennis Reese. “We work tirelessly to ensure we bring innovation and reliability to our customers, and we are thrilled with the response.”

The NRA Publications Golden Bullseye Awards Breakfast will take place during the 2020 NRA Annual Meetings in Nashville, Tennessee.
