1911 EMP® Handguns

If Goldilocks grew up and found herself on shiny side of a gun counter she would undoubtedly find the EMP®. Nestled between the full size 1911 and the 911, the patented EMP® is just right.

Reengineered around the 9mm cartridge, the Springfield Armory® Enhanced Micro Pistol (EMP®) translates the benefits of the full-size 1911 into a smaller platform perfectly suited for today’s most popular defense caliber. Easy carrying and smooth shooting, the EMP® is built with a forged frame and slide to last a lifetime.

To capitalize on the smaller caliber refinements, the EMP® features a shortened frame and action compared to its full-size counterpart. The reduced grip radius produces a remarkably comfortable shooting experience and makes the pistol a concealable and confident side arm.

Available only from Springfield Armory®, the EMP® strikes the perfect balance and delivers a 1911 that’s just right.

BUILT AROUND
THE 9MM CARTRIDGE

The 1911 EMP® is built from the ground up for the 9mm cartridge, offering you a compact and comfortable 1911 designed for CCW. With a frame custom designed for the exceedingly popular defensive round, the EMP® offers shooters a smaller and more compact frame fore to aft for a maximized grip. The result is a gun that combines the classic charm of the 1911 with cutting-edge design features ideal for concealed carry.

  • Forged Frame and Slide

The forged steel slide of the EMP® is both rugged and practically indestructible, while a patented forged aluminum alloy frame keeps the gun lightweight and packable.

  • Lightweight

Extremely light and handy, the EMP® is custom crafted for reliability, controllability and easy portage.

  • Fully Supported Bull Barrel

A stainless steel match grade fully supported heavy bull barrel keeps the EMP® shooting reliably and true despite its diminutive dimensions.

  • Extended Base Pad

Constructed of rust-resistant stainless steel, the EMP®’s magazine holds nine rounds of 9mm and features an extended base pad.

  • Checkered Wood Grips

Complementing the attractive two-tone finish of the EMP® is a pair of checkered wood grips.

  • 3-Dot Sights

The EMP® features an intuitive 3-dot sighting system for fast target acquisition.
