Springfield Armory XD-E Honored at NRA Show
GENESEO, ILL. – Springfield Armory®’s XD-E was awarded a coveted Golden Bullseye Award and named a Ballistic’s Best during NRA Show 2018.
Each year, NRA Publications honors outstanding firearms manufacturers and shooting industry products with their selection of the Golden Bullseye winners. Voted on by NRA Publications’ editors and select staff, the award recognizes innovative achievement in user experience and design. The Springfield Armory XD-E took home this year’s Golden Bullseye honor for Tactical Firearm of the Year.
The Ballistic’s Best is the prestigious award designated by Athlon Publications. Firearms across all categories are judged for their superior performance and accuracy, evaluated by the Athlon Publications editorial staff. The Springfield Armory XD-E won the Ballistic’s Best for the compact, semi-auto handgun division. Additionally, the Springfield Armory XD Mod.2 5” Tactical was also a Ballistic’s Best finalist for the full-size, semi-auto handgun division.
“We are honored to be recognized among such an exceptional pool of our industry peers,” says Steve Kramer, VP of Marketing at Springfield Armory. “We work hard to deliver products to the market that give shooters everything they want, and we strive to ensure that our products demonstrate our passion for what we do.”
The Springfield Armory XD-E is a single stack, hammer-fired polymer pistol featuring a Low Effort Slide (L.E.S.) slide, requiring 27% less effort to rack than striker-fired pistols in the same class. The hammer, along with the single action/double action trigger mechanism allows for various modes of carry, and provides peace of mind for those who feel hesitant carrying a concealed striker-fired pistol.

About Springfield Armory®
In 1794, the original Springfield Armory was designated as our national armory by General George Washington, and began manufacturing muskets for the defense of our young, free Republic. This monumental institution went on to serve as a think tank for developing innovative firearms concepts and producing some of the most storied rifle platforms in our country’s history. The Armory functioned as a firearms supplier for every major American conflict until 1968 when the government sadly closed its doors. In 1974, two centuries after its inception, Springfield Armory Inc. in Geneseo, IL revived the iconic heritage of the Armory to carry on its legacy and restore the Springfield Armory name.
Springfield Armory Inc. engineers, manufactures and assembles their legendary M1A™, 1911, 911 and SAINT® AR-15 lines of firearms in Geneseo, Illinois. Since 2001, Springfield Armory has enjoyed a strategic, collaborative partnership with the state-of-the-art factory in Croatia working hand-in-hand to develop and engineer the multiple award-winning line of XD® polymer pistols that have become staples in the US marketplace. We strive to honor this responsibility as guardians of the original Springfield Armory legacy by manufacturing the highest quality firearms to enable responsible citizens to preserve their right to keep and bear arms in the defense of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
