GENESEO, ILL. (09/27/21) – Springfield Armory® CEO Dennis Reese is proud to announce the hiring of Phil Rawlings as Vice President of Sales and LE. Rawlings will be working closely in this new role with Peggy Hickenbottom, Vice President of Distribution & Customer Service.

Possessing more than three decades of total experience involved in the outdoors and firearms industry, Rawlings has held key supervisory and management positions throughout that time. This has included positions with Smith & Wesson, the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife.

Most recently, Rawlings held the position of Director of Sales for Smith & Wesson where he managed the sales efforts for the Smith & Wesson, Thompson/Center and Gemtech brands. In this role, he managed strategic business relationships with all top independent retailers and buy groups in the U.S., oversaw the surpassing of annual sales goals, and was instrumental in the product development and launch of Smith & Wesson and Thompson/Center categories.

“We are extremely proud to have Phil as part of the Springfield Armory team,” says Steve McKelvain, President of Springfield Armory. “He brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to this very important role, and I have no doubt he will be an integral part of this company’s continued success.”

Rawlings’ in-depth experience in sales and sales management provides him with the expertise required for such a role. This broad skillset ensures he has the ability to understand both the in-depth nuances as well as the larger strategic goals that are part of his new role as Vice President of Sales and LE.

“It is an exciting time to join Springfield Armory,” says Rawlings. “I am honored to become part of the organization and be able to work with the Springfield Armory team. I also look forward to working alongside the Evans Group in our efforts to continue the growth and strength of the Springfield Armory brand.”
